XlorD: "WC3 can get boring"

While our team is interviewing sase you´ll find a small comment from XlorD.

WCG-Europe: You barely lost your last match against last year’s winner HoT on the mainstage with 2:0. What were the reasons for this from your point of view?

XlorD: First of all I had a hard time getting used to the stage, it was rather warm in the cabins and the lighting wasn’t really optimal either. But the match was a really close call, I had to hand over Echo Island because it’s a Nightelf map. I just couldn’t deal with that. And I was dominating HoT on Twisted Meadows but because I made a stupid mistake towards the end I still lost. I wanted to set up an expansion on T2 and it’s what you’re supposed to do, but I should’ve waited on T3.

WCG-Europe: Against the Portuguese player Phoenix you ran into some unexpected problems and you even went and changed races. Why?

XlorD: He was just so damn strong! The first map I lost even though I had a perfect early as Undead. And then I already started to think that it wasn’t going to end well, you really shouldn’t play Undead against Orc on Twisted Meadows. But it was the right choice to do it anyway! I tried the same thing at the WCG National Qualifier last year and it worked. After that I was certain that I’d take home the other two maps as well.

WCG-Europe: Now that you’re out, who do you think will take the overall title?

XlorD: HoT defeated Grubby 2:0, so I’m basically just as good as the Dutch national player (laughs)! I think HoT and SaSa are going to duel it out between themselves. SaSa played pretty good against ToD and that’s why he’s my favorite for the final.

WCG-Europe: Recently you’ve complained about your former Clan SK Gaming, any changes or updates on that discussion?

XlorD: Nothing at all, TheSlash hasn’t contacted me since and their statement, that they released recently, is the only thing I’ve heard from their side. And nothing has changed about the fact that they still owe me money as well. I really would’ve liked to see TheSlash here at CeBIT, but so far I’ve unfortunately not had the chance to. What I’ve said was nothing but the truth and it’s a shame that things have turned out like this so far.

WCG-Europe: Now you’re with Team Alternate as a WC3 player, how do you feel with them?

XlorD: I really feel at home with them, the Clanleadership is nice and they keep their promises while I maintain their expectations. I really enjoy being on the team because I’m one of the high-performers so I get into action a lot more than usual. DeMusliM, yaWs and me, we’re the best players on the team. I’ll stick to them for at least another year and the pay is pretty good too. I hope that we’ll celebrate a few more victories together.

WCG-Europe: You are a rather young player but at the same time have had a very respectable success. What’s your outlook for 2008?

XlorD: I’ll just keep it, obviously! My goals for this year are a top3-ranking at the World Cyber Games Grand Finals and taking home the National Pro Series title. If I can find the time, I want to train extremely hard for that. But I have to be a bit careful, because WarCraft 3 hasn’t been as much for me recently. I can’t really play for hours every day, because otherwise WarCraft 3 can get really boring. But I’ll just keep on working on that, because I do want to stay in the active roster for this year.
