What´s up in hall 22?

Just like in years passed, 2008 will once again see the Samsung Euro Championship happening at the world’s largest information technology tradeshow, the CeBIT in Hanover. And things are going to kick off with a bang: More than 200 players representing more than 30 nations will compete for cash prizes totalling US$ 100.000 and of course the sought after title of SEC-Champion. Thanks to main sponsor and namesake corporation Samsung Electronics, Hall 22 will yet again act as the backdrop to this and other very special events, none of which are limited to eSports, but involve all kinds of entertainment to the public and fans.

The main-stage with its’ very spacious visitor area, live-acts, raffles and tournament matches will of course be the center of attention and largest overall section of the hall. Additionally ten other sponsors with their very own booths will be providing a sensory and entertaining framework for the event. And visitors won’t be leaving empty handed either. Apart from just presenting their products, the partners of the Samsung Euro Championship will be giving many of them away, ranging from merchandise to hardware. With Speedlink, Razer and newcomer Roccat the SEC now has three major suppliers of gaming peripherals presenting in Hall 22. And said peripherals can be put to the test when public visitors go toe-to-toe with some of Europe’s finest cyber athletes. Talk about a chance that won’t come again too soon. But Philips, AMD and Samsung won’t be presenting in a purely business manner either, much rather making the most of the opportunity to reach the gamer demographic. Whether it’s the newest line-up of Quad-Core CPU’s or ATI Radeon chip-sets, running high-end games or Philips’ innovative sensory entertainment systems, either way, a visit to hall 22 is anything but forgettable.
 

 
But it’s not just sponsors and partners of the SEC presenting new things. Last year’s cooperation with adidas, the world’s largest producer of sporting goods, has been intensified after the positive feedback of the German National-Outfit presentation. At CeBIT, adidas will showcase the official WCG Tour Shirt and considering the 2008 Grand Final in Cologne, one can expect to see much more from the partnership with adidas. But as if this wasn’t good enough yet, there will be another premiere in hall 22: For the first time a Gaming-Clan will be part of the actual event and give meaning to the slogan “eSports you can touch”: In the SK Gaming Lounge, the public will have the chance to get to know the individual members and one of the most successfully organized pillars in German eSports. Gaming will be prevalent everywhere and if you just want to take a smaller break, why not try some of the newest Xbox releases strewn throughout the entire hall?

And all of this is only a fraction of what fans, eSports-enthusiasts and other visitors can come to expect in Hall 22 at CeBIT. The preparations are in high gear and assembly will begin by the end of this week. Stay tuned for updates as things begin to take shape in Hanover.
